In August 2024, we will open the doors to our new school, IES Österåker.
IES Österåker is a school for preschool through grade 9. When the school reaches full capacity, it will have approximately 600 students divided into two parallel classes. We follow the Swedish National curriculum. Up to 50% of the teaching is conducted in English.
IESÖ is primarily a newly constructed school; some of the buildings are existing from a previous school and completely renovated. Located in central Åkersberga the school is surrounded by sports facilities, large green areas, and the Swedish archipelago, making its location unique because all of this is within commuting distance to Stockholm.
Your Profile:You are someone who enjoys the company of children. You are open and engage easily with others. You are observant and see things before they become a problem. You are interested in the school and recognize that as an adult in the school you are also part of the educational staff. We are looking for someone with experience in building maintenance and expertise in IT support and troubleshooting. You also possess good technical knowledge.
While previous experience in the education sector is desirable, it is not mandatory. Additionally, you are structured, flexible, and have good organizational skills. Due to the nature of your tasks, being accustomed to working independently, prioritizing tasks, and communicating with various stakeholders is essential. You work closely with the principal of the school. Of course, you master Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
Your New JobWe are looking for a motivated individual to fill our role as IT Rep. and Facility manager at IES Österåker. As a crucial part of our team, you will play a central role in ensuring the smooth operation of the entire school building.
Your responsibilities will be diverse and include:
• Take responsibility for maintaining the building's condition and ensuring its functionality.
• Handle and perform maintenance tasks to keep everything in working order.
• Oversee the building's safety, security, and fire protection.
• Act as a liaison with contractors and coordinate their work.
• Serve as a contact person for cleaning staff and ensure a clean and pleasant environment.
• Manage Systematic Work Environment Tracker (SWET) according to guidelines from the headquarters
• Take charge of the distribution and repair of devices for staff and students.
• Maintain and monitor the network for optimal performance supported by our head office.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems, implementing new security measures as directed by the headquarters.
• Repair HDMI and Ethernet ports, as well as install and fix Chromecasts and projectors.
• Handle various printer-related issues and maintain printer functionality.
The position is full-time. Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period, and the position may be filled before the deadline.
