Group Compliance department is part of the function "Quality Strategy and Compliance" at our Global Supply Chain organization. Within the function, we aim to make sure we deliver consistent product quality that our customers will love.
Group Compliance is responsible for setting legal requirements and routines for all products sold by the H&M Group, in all countries and channels in line with local legislation and a precautionary principle. This includes product safety, labelling, chemical and physical test demands. By supporting several parts of our business with our expertise, we contribute to the overall customer experience.
Job Description
We are eager to bring an Expansion and Compliance specialist onboard, to be responsible for coordinating expansion research in order to investigate the legal requirements for market access for the group of products including textile and lifestyle products, furniture, kitchenware, home accessories and candles. We have a team of specialists with deep knowledge within their specific area. Ongoingly, we research and update ourselves on the specific topics and relevant legal requirements, including aspects of physical and mechanical restrictions, physical properties, and authority reporting. We then communicate this to all relevant stakeholders within the H&M group such as Expansion, Assortment, Production and Sales Markets. Key responsibilities include:
Be the Group Compliance's main speaking partner towards expansion responsible.
Coordinate expansion research and tasks at Group Compliance to enable expansion within the given timeframe for the H&M Group.
Research product requirements related to expansion (e.g., new markets, new products, new brands) at Group Compliance (for example textile and lifestyle products, furniture, kitchenware, home accessories and candles - excluding cosmetic and chemical products).
Initiate and carry out expansion research and hand over information to relevant specialists as needed for verification and/or implementation.
Research relevant regulations in existing and future sales countries. Evaluate the information and set importance for H&M.
Secure that H&M's physical and chemical restrictions for specified products/materials for all brands within the H&M group are in line with global regulations as well as company policies.
In collaboration with the other compliance specialists, set, implement, update and follow up restrictions, standards, routines, methods and guidelines within H&M-Group.
Improve existing processes related to expansion within Group Compliance (e.g. working actively with Local Country Compliance Contacts).
Qualifications
We believe you are a communicative and driven team player who enjoys working with a variety of people, in an international environment. To succeed in this role, you are solutions-focused, curious, and structured with a collaborative "can-do" approach and an eye for details. You have a goal-oriented mindset and are eager to find great ways to drive results and have an impact.
Have a university degree in engineering or equivalent within the product group.
Have a few years of work experience within consumer product regulations and compliance.
Insights around consumer products (e.g., household appliances, kitchenware, furniture, home accessories...) and have at least a few years of practical experience within a relevant field.
Experience in reading and evaluating standards and regulations.
Experience turning complex information into user-friendly guidelines.
Fluent in English, written and spoken.
