Jones Tech Europe is looking for an Application Engineer (m/f) with a mechanical, electronic or material background. Essential is understanding of Thermal Management (TIM), RF/EMI/IP Shielding gaskets and solutions. We are welcoming all nationalities as long as a good command in written and oral English can be proven. Finnish, Swedish or any other major European languages in addition would be regarded as a plus.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our Company, who is a global leader in Solutions for Thermal Management and EMI/IP Shielding Technology, is looking for an excellent Field Application Engineer (FAE) to lead the technical support and consultation of its material technology into the European Electronic Industry, and serve as the primary technical interface for customers across the Nordic region and rest of Europe & Middle East (EMEA). This position has a remote option, and can be placed either in Sweden, Finland or any other European country and will assume a work-from-home capability though an office space will be available. The FAE will report to the Head of the European Operations with dotted line to Application Management in our Head Quarters in Beijing, China
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in engineer/contractor needs analysis, proposal review meetings, specification interpretation/translation, material definition and proposals (electrical and mechanical)
Maintain knowledge of technical details of projects. Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Work with Head Quarters Application Engineering team, R&D and Product Specialists.
Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Work in team with the European Sales Management in driving new opportunities, customer visits and account base development
Manage/coach/mentor technical sales and application engineering in our channel partners, typically Rep organizations and Distributors.
TECHNICAL UNDERSTANDING:
Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies within Thermal Management & EMI/RF/IP Shielding and the potential product and solution?s application.
BSEE/ME or MSc EE/ME level of understanding of electronics cooling, heat transfer, challenges in Thermal Management, various existing solutions in the markets, competition etc.
The candidate should also have knowledge in RF/EMI challenges, solutions such as gaskets (FIP, Foam over Fabric, conductive materials etc.).
Overall mechanical construction engineering skills / experience is also required.
Understanding of electronics in general, PCB, Components and Packaging, Building Practises.
General understanding and knowledge of application areas in Communication (LTE, Radio, Base Band), Automotive (ECU, Infotainment), Industrial, Medical, Consumer (Cellular devices/terminals, Application Processors, Camera Elements etc.)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERINCE
Bachelor?s or Master Degree preferred; plus 2-5 years related experience; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, under pressure, outside office hours with multiple employees and customers making multiple demands.
Willing to travel in predominately in Europe and occasionally in Asia and selectively in US.
Demonstrated excellence in oral communication and written communications.
