The role of Environmental Lead is a position within the EHS Department in Uppsala. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and manage on-site environmental procedures as well as facilitate and manage contact with local and national environmental authorities. Essential in this role will be your ability to engage and communicate with a number of key functions and activities to achieve robust and long-term solutions.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Environmental, Health and Safety department at GE Healthcare Life Sciences in Uppsala is in the process of revising and renewing its way of working. From being single pointed experts we are making the shift to become a natural business partner through a more consultative support approach. We are looking for qualified applicants aiming for a dynamic workplace with many opportunities for leadership and growth.
Your key responsibilities will be to implement, maintain and improve all aspects of the site's environmental procedures as well as ensure knowledge of and compliance with the Site?s environmental permit. Responsibilities will also include the investigation of incidents, near misses and Concern Reports involving environmental aspects to determine root causes, corrective and preventive measures. Site-wide leadership and coordination of activities aimed at maintaining compliance with environmental legislation will also be the key functions of this position.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Master's Degree in chemistry, environmental science, chemical/environmental engineering or related field
Experience from relevant chemical industry, preferably heavy chemical manufacturing
Knowledge of Swedish and European environmental legislation
Experience in applying for and ensuring guidance with Swedish environmental permits
Experience in environmental discussions and environmental reporting to authorities (including Annual Environmental Reports)
Fluent in Swedish and English
Proven skills in engaging, motivating and involving people
Self-motivated, responsible and comfortable in independently making decisions
Good communication capability
EU work permit
Desired Characteristics:
Confident and comfortable in discussions with authorities
Experience in leading an organization through practical EHS solutions
Familiarity with tools and processes used to control emissions to air, water, noise, etc.
Compliance audit skills
