Axis is looking for the right person to fill an opening as Engineering Manager at the Firmware Extensions team within our R&D organization.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Engineering Manager at Firmware Extensions you will be responsible for driving and developing a group of highly skilled software developers. You will have the overall responsibility and your main tasks will include:
• Long term planning
• Allocate resources to projects
• Follow up and evaluate projects
• Recruitment
• Budgeting
• Teambuilding
• Appraisal, development and salary talks
• Run the day-to-day operations
• Speaking partner in technical discussions
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a Master’s degree in computer science (or similar) and documented leadership skills. You’re passionate about software development and system architectures and we prefer that you have a background within the field of embedded systems.
Furthermore we believe you have the capability to manage and leading people. You have an interest for and experience of innovation management and are an open minded leader with a problem solving ability. You enjoy taking responsibility and are good at motivating and encouraging the people you work with.
THE FIRMWARE EXTENSIONS TEAM
The team is responsible for functionalities in our firmware platform related to key components as Media Streaming, Storage and Event Management in our network video products. This means taking an overall responsibility for the specified areas regarding roadmap, development, architecture, competence and quality. The team work very closely with parallel teams to build a common firmware platform and to provide the market with firmware upgrades to our whole product portfolio.
