RISE Energy- and Environmental Systems Analysis is growing within the field of analysis and modelling of complex energy systems.

We work with urban energy systems, smart grids, energy policy and energy markets, both nationally and internationally. Our work within urban energy system includes, among other things, analysis of connections and interactions between different energy carriers such as electricity, district heating and gas, as well as connections to surrounding systems such as waste/recycling and transport. In our work, simulation models are a key tool. For example, we develop models for integrated energy systems to analyse development paths, investments, and changes in the energy system. Does this sound interesting? Then RISE have an interesting job for you!

We are now looking for an engineer with expertise in modelling and analysis of complex energy systems and this position will be located in Gothenburg.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone who wants to develop our business within the field and work with mathematical and numerical modelling, data analysis and analysis of results. You should have good knowledge in numerical modeling, e.g. optimization-based modelling and programming. Preferably you are also interested in issues related to renewable energy, energy systems, energy markets and sustainability. You have a degree at Master level, or equivalent. You are proficient in at least one open-source programming language such as Python, R and/or Julia and are conversant in data analysis in this open-source language. You are also proficient in English and preferably in Swedish. You aspire to learn new techniques in modelling and are excited by challenges. Suitable fields of study could be, but are not limited to, Engineering physics, Engineering mathematics, Electrical engineering, Energy engineering or Mechatronics.

We offer you a challenging and fun job with a group of dedicated colleagues, dealing with interesting societal challenges. You will work in a dynamic environment providing you with great opportunities for development. At RISE, we want you to develop and feel good, so that together we contribute to a sustainable future and ensure the benefits for business and society from a global perspective.

Are we right for each other?
We cannot promise you an easy task, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some truly engaging societal challenges to tackle. You will get to work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable future and to securing a leading position for Swedish industry and research globally. RISE can give you the chance to make a real difference. Welcome to Sweden's Research Institute and Innovation Partner.
