Embedded system developer
Do you want to be part of designing new products and solutions in the marine sector?

Navico is the global leader in recreational marine electronics and a growing presence in the commercial marine sector.

In Gothenburg the R&D team is currently a small team with only a few people

We aim to grow the R&D team over time in the near future. Our ambition is to keep the Gothenburg R&D team within software and try to make the more innovation driven projects within boat software. A little bit more complex but also easier to use is the ambition. Even though the focus is software we are working closely with the hardware teams.

As an embedded system developer at Navico, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and prototyping new IoT devices which communicate with cloud services on powered constrained environments.

We are looking for you who has previous experience in developing embedded applications.

If you haven 't done it before, being able to figure out how to setup, develop and test applications with an SBC development kit will make your job easier and a lot of fun doing it!

We are looking for you who has a Bachelor or Master's degree and experience working in electrical, computer or software engineering or similar.

Requirements:

• Experience with Single Board Computers and embedded linux
• Experience with C/C++
• Experience with device communication standards/protocols
• Experience with power management
We think it is highly valued if you have:

• Experience with Rust
• Experience with power management and Linux
• Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CAN
You are comfortable on using a headless environment and learning on the job.
Security is critical, we expect you to have high standards, understand the security impact of your technical decisions and develop strategies to protect from the wilderness of the internet.

About Navico in Gothenburg
In the past the Gothenburg team have been doing full systems for navigation and controlling the boat (have a look at yachtdefined.com) but we are now moving to focus more on the integration between onboard devices to unify the boating experience.

We have offices in Gothenburg with a maker space, gym, espresso machine, ball pit, and beer fridge. The essential needs. The culture we strive for is a maker mentality and start-up atmosphere.

As a developer or designer at Navico you must be able to create your own ideas, take decisions and manage your own time. The working hours are flexible, but you are expected to be at the office most of your working hours for spontaneous meetings and questions.

Apply today and join our team!

In this process we work together with Dfind IT. We evaluate applications ongoing. You can easily apply with your LinkedIn profile at: http://www.dfind.se/it/
