Reporting to the Site General Manager, manages pre-synthesis, synthesis, processing, mobilisation and assembly of product within the Plant. In consultation with Group Supply Chain, other Plant Production Managers and Business Unit Managers ensure that sales orders and/or targets are met on-time / in-full at minimum cost having regard to:
• sales/marketing considerations
• short / medium range planning
• allocation of budgeted resources to production activity
• optimal use of plant and equipment
• application of lean manufacturing techniques
• new product, technical and/or systems development
• human resource leadership & performance management
• quality, health, safety and environment considerations.
Functional Responsibility:
Responsible for the achievement of operational objectives, of a short / medium & long term nature, for the product range within the Plant. In addition to the integration of synthesis and processing activity from receipt of source materials, through multiple processing stages to finished product, reviews, agrees and controls specifications and protocols related to - bills of materials, product routings, product assembly, product quality, inventory levels and/or process procedures - in area of responsibility.
The Swedish branch is situated in Robertsfors, Västerbotten.
Candidate profile
The person:
• Demonstrates a high degree of planning and coordination ability.
• Strong personal initiative and confidence.
• Demonstrates a high level of personal drive and motivation with a clear focus on
achieving results.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good level of English (technical and general).
• Excellent interpersonal skills, commercially aware and sensitive to relationship management.
Education/experience required:
Primary Degree in an appropriate engineering or science discipline with at least five or more years experience in a similar or related management or senior technical position. An ability to work constructively with staff at all levels and across organisational/cultural boundaries is required along with strong interpersonal, leadership, business, technical, analytical, organisational, communication, problem-solving and project management skills.
Previous production management experience is desirable whilst experience of working in a Lean production environment is, together with exposure to an international business environment, key advantages.
