The Digital Buildings Business of Schneider Electric provides Intelligent building management solutions to help customers create a productive and comfortable environment for its occupants, reduce energy consumption and run building operations efficiently. As a critical part of this building ecosystem we also provide solutions for fire detection and monitoring of fire detection systems installations.
The Fire Detection Panel team is part R&D and is developing Fire Detection Panels, including HW and SW applications. The detection panels are interacting with distributed sensor systems in buildings and with a Fire expert cloud application.
Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for a passionate individual to assume a cross functional role as Electronics Hardware, Senior Design Engineer for our Fire Detection Hardware solution in Lund, Sweden.
In this role you will be developing electronics for next generation of fire panel products in the Building Automation sector. You will be involved in all aspects of Electronics Design and working alongside a team of experienced engineers and ensure projects are completed on time and to specification. In this role you will be analyzing existing electronics systems and making cost-effective improvements, conducting research, designing testing methods, completing quality assurance, running diagnostics, managing obsolescence and liaising with manufacturing on production related issues.
Key responsibilities include:
• Schematic entry using ECAD tool Cadence Allegro, component selection keeping critical design margins in consideration, design simulation using pSPICE, LTSpice
• Interface with Firmware design/ Mechanical engineering/ Industrialization team/Manufacturing.
• Creating Engineering documentation; Bill of material, Product Specification, design documents and Test plans
• Design verification testing including EMI/EMC testing and supporting product certifications at third party labs.
• Perform DFMEA/ FTA of new and existing designs.
• Provide post-production support by identifying complex technical issues, evaluating options and implementing solutions.
• Contribute to cost reduction programs of existing product designs.
• Contribute with new and innovative ideas to evolving business development activities. Expresses new design options (functionalities, performance, re-use constraints,..) in alignment with our platforming strategy.
• Contribute to cost reduction programs of existing product designs.
• Customer Request and Technical Expertise analysis of customer returns.
• Recommend, evaluate and qualify supplier options for brand-labels of accessory and peripherals products.

• Bachelor or higher engineering education
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
• Ability to respond and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• MS software such as Word, Excel, Visio, Teams
• Experience in Modelling, Simulation & Analytics Skills
• Understand regulations and product certification
