We stand in front of significant challenges, where reducing transport emitted CO2 emissions is one of the biggest. We have transformed over the past years by simplifying and empowering our organization and way of working. As an integrated part of this we have high expectations to shorten development time and cost and drive innovation and employee engagement by leading technology and people.
The PE Sweden organization has the full responsibility for Platform Center Heavy Duty Engines, Transmissions as well as Application Center Heavy Duty Europe. The organization takes the product ownership role and optimizes complete powertrain systems through usage of components tailored for each application.
This is how you could make an impact
As Director for Verification, Testing & Material Laboratory, you will have the responsibility for the operation, maintenance and development of test and materials technology laboratories. We work both local and global to deliver high quality results and expert functions within our areas of responsibility. We co-operate closely with product owners, technology owners, certification and compliance as well as other functions. We have test facilities and laboratories where a mix of theory and practical work is necessary to deliver and develop present and new technologies (engines, transmissions, electrical drivelines, fuel cells etc.).
The roadmap for competences, methods and equipment securing the site development capabilities for both well-known and new technologies
Lab planning, maintenance and equipment calibration
Responsible to maintain updated investment road map, short and long term, and to drive the investment process
You will lead an organization consisting of roughly 170 employees.
As Director for VTMT lead the organization You drive cooperation between all global Powertrain Engineering as well as leading the cross-functional network around VTMT. You're an integrated part of the testing and simulation networks.
VTMT organization consists 10 groups. Engine Test Cells & Virtual Testing, Engine Workshop & Geometrical Measurement, Engine verification and planning, Test Cell service and system testing, Faciity maintenance, Project management, Emission in vehicle verification, Cast Materials New Technologies & Steel and Mechanical Testing Method & Technical Development

We also want you to have:
Minimum a master's degree in engineering
Proven ability to successfully lead a team as line or project manager
Well experienced in the automotive industry especially within the area of forefront technology development/research in the Powertrain domain
Worked in close co-operation with suppliers
Deep knowledge about verification & validation methodology e.g. virtual analysis, simulation, testing, RCA, FMEA, materials analysis, measurement technology etc.
Understand emission testing and regulations applicable for combustion engines, hybrids and electrical drivelines
Communicate with ease in both verbal and written English
