The section Vehicle NVH & Dynamics CAE (Computer Aided Engineering - Simulation) is a part of the department Driving Dynamics and Noise & Vibration Centre within Product & Quality at Volvo Car Group. The centre has the responsibility to ensure that all dynamic attributes like Steering, Handling, Ride, Braking, Driver Assistance, Performance, Drivability, Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) and Sound Quality are supported in the vehicle programs, both in terms of customer and legal requirements. Within the Vehicle NVH & Dynamics CAE section we have the responsibility for leading and support in areas as Roadnoise, Windnoise, Operational Sound Quality, Audio & ANC performance, Interactive Sound Quality, Trimmed Body Acoustics, Ride, Handling and Steering performance from a complete vehicle perspective in research, advanced engineering projects and vehicle programs. The team works integrated in all project phases, contributing with competence, CAE(Computer Aided Angineer) & test analysis and guidelines to improve all attributes in Volvo Cars products. Responsibilities and tasks include but not limited to;
Leading and developing the Vehicle NVH & Dynamics CAE team, including the employees located at VCC sites abroad, to enable maximum staff utilization, securing prerequisites and follow up including reporting results.
Recruitment of new team members and securing competence development for all team members
Mentoring of team members
Responsible for Vehicle NVH & Dynamics CAE strategy
Plan and manage the activities within the line organization such as operational and method development
Ensuring implementation of methods and processes to increase quality and efficiency within the Driving Dynamics and Noise & Vibration Centre and secure best practice and standardization
Ensure proper project staffing in vehicle, unit and advanced engineering projects including consultant on-site and bought capacity
Recognize and reward good performance of employees
Leading and follow up of the development work in all phases, mentoring and coaching the team to deliver in time to the right cost and quality
Being an active member of the Driving Dynamics and Noise & Vibration Centre Management team
Minimum Qualifications
Master of Science or higher education in Mechanical/Vehicle Engineering or Engineering Physics or similar
Minimum of 7 years of experience
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Knowledge in structural dynamics, engineering acoustics and attribute engineering
Solid experience in vehicle development
Profound knowledge in CAE and testing, and vehicle acoustics and dynamics
Personal Qualities
