Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing is part of Commercial Operations and consists of the departments Cultivation, Purification and EMU (engineering, maintenance and utilities). The unit is responsible for
the production of biopharmaceutical drug substances within Biovitrum, commercial production of ReFacto (recombinant coagulation factor) being a major activity. The responsibility will now expand to
cover also external drug substance and drug product production.
We are now looking for a Director of Product Supply Chain Management to build up our supply chain of products to be used in clinical trials and for commercial sale.
The position is a permanent employment and we want you to start as soon as possible.
Main responsibilities
• Predict and evaluate materials needed clinical trials and commercial supply of internal protein projects and translate this information into manufacturing demands for Drug Substance and Drug
Product, both pre- and post launch and to establish launch strategie
• Map and build relations with external CMOs (contract manufacturing organisations), issuing Requests for Proposal for the required supplies of Drug Substance, Drug Product packaging and
distribution to meet the demands
• Participate in evaluations and audits together with Project Teams and the Quality Department when selecting the most suitable CMO
• Participate in the formulation and negotiation of agreements with external CMOs
• Stay in continuous touch with contracted CMOs
• Serve as Biovitrum's hub for overall material planning concerning products close to
and/or already in commercial phase
Personal skills
As somebody with great social competence, our new Director of Product Supply Chain Management will enjoy interacting with people both internally and externally at departments like preclinical,
clinical, formulation, process development and manufacturing. Strategic thinking and business focus, negotiation and documentation skills as well as the ability to comprehend legal documentation are
crucial assets. In a fast moving environment, a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to daily issues are essential tools. Fluently written and spoken English and Swedish are required and other
languages an added bonus. The position requires travelling.
Professional requirements
• Previous experience from production of biotech products (Drug Substance/Drug Product)
• Broad experience and knowledge of the entire value chain as well as the biotech manufacturing chain
• Negotiation experience within this field
• Extensive network within this area
• Quality knowledge (cGMP)
• Basic education within engineering and/or biotechnology is preferred supplemented with a degree in economics or law
