hela Sverige Our core business in the Rocktec division is research, design and manufacturing of Rock drills. They are the heart of all drilling rigs whether they are being used above or below ground.
The piston is the part of the rock drill that by using shock waves transfers the energy to the drill bit. The shock will change its waves, form and efficiency depending on the design of the piston.
To understand the optimal length, mass and design of a piston is questions that we work with. It is not so difficult to make a rock drills with high impact force. The difficulties lie in transferring the impact energy into the rock via the Rock Drill and drill bit without also getting large power losses.
We are world leaders in this field and conduct extensive research on the impact energy as efficiently and humanely as possible can be transferred to the drill bit. Today we work with 250kN/stroke and an impact rate of 100 beats / second.
Do you want to join us and develop future Rock Drills?
You will have an important role in our development projects. You will be in the project from the beginning from feasibility studies and until the end when we introduce the Drill on the market. The work includes requirements specification, dynamic simulation, design, testing and documentation. Material selection and calculations will be essential elements of your work. You will have frequent contact with, among others, test engineering, production, market team and service team within the company.
