Are you looking for an inspiring job that combines state-of-the-art technology and modern agile ways of working? We can offer you a position in a dynamic and fast-moving high-tech environment, with lots of opportunities to influence the future.

Scania is currently transforming from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to becoming a supplier of complete sustainable transport solutions. Autonomous vehicles, Connectivity, and Electro mobility are all challenging Scania 's Research and development organization in a new way.

About us

At the Department of Autonomous Transport Systems, we are developing self-driving transport solutions for the future. Our group is a part of the section Autonomous Continuous Integration Platform and the section enables engineering productivity for Autonomous systems development flow by, for example, developing automated test pipelines, visualization tools, large-scale simulation capabilities, CI/CD, etc. We work closely with the other development sites in the Traton group, in a global development flow.

We are now looking for a Development Engineer for the group Autonomous Logging. Within Autonomous Logging we have a responsibility to provide a solution in the vehicles to collect data from different data streams, like LIDAR, cameras, and other sensors. The current Data collection solution consists of an onboard part with hardware and software to collect data on the vehicle and an offboard part where the data is uploaded to the cloud in AWS.

You will together with the team:

• Develop high-quality software for the collection of data streams from autonomous test vehicles
• Be an active part of the development of the autonomous vehicle by taking part in tests and seeing the prototype at work.
• Troubleshooting hardware & software in the data collection system, sometimes in the test vehicles.
• And most importantly, have a fun and inspiring job!

The team works agile in sprints, with daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives, in close collaboration with the appointed Product Owner, System Architect, and Scrum Master.

Our diverse development team consists of engineers with different cultures, ages, genders, and competencies. We are on a team development journey to be a high-performing team that shares a common vision, goals, and metrics. The base is open communication, trust and care about each other.

Our dream candidate:

Our perfect candidate is exceptional at solving complex problems with an agile approach. You are enthusiastic, proactive, and prioritize structured, solution-oriented thinking. You value open dialogue and consistently strive for high-quality solutions. As a dedicated team player, you thrive in collaborative efforts to achieve shared goals. In a role that involves significant internal and external interactions, your positive mindset and collaborative spirit are essential for success.

We think you are a full-stack software developer with experience in frontend and backend development. You have developed software in Python, C++, or Bash using GitLab and maybe also Docker. If you have developed frontend in Angular or React it is a plus. You have probably experience with CI/CD and maybe also knowledge of AWS.

We also think you are interested in technical details and have knowledge of computer networking, Linux administration, or Operating Systems.

We believe you have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a relevant area like Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechatronics. Probably you have also general knowledge about and interest in hardware and Embedded Systems. And experience in the automotive industry would of course be excellent.

You are fluent in written and spoken English.

What we offer:

We offer an inspiring workplace, with great respect for the individual, where you have great opportunities to shape your work and your future. Your personal and professional development is essential and something we encourage and support.

The position is based in Södertälje, with possibilities of hybrid office and remote work. In addition to a wide range of career and development opportunities, we can offer Scania employees other benefits, such as car leasing, flexible working hours, a company training facility, and much more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and the office in Södertälje, the Scania Job Express.
