Join our team at Driveline to develop transmission system solutions for future heavy-duty commercial vehicles within the Volvo Group. Together with other engineers in Gothenburg and around the world, you and your colleagues will create innovative driveline systems that improve both the driving experience and productivity for our customers.
The group BF63715 Transmission Housings is responsible for the internally designed parts to all our in-house transmissions, both for Diesel and Fully electrical Trucks. The parts concerned are mostly aluminum casted parts (sand casted, LPDC or HPDC). Our diverse group consists of 10 engineers with different roles, such as system engineers, component engineers and CAD engineers. Your future team consists of a group of experienced and skilled engineers. To us team spirit is about knowledge sharing, thus supporting and helping each other is therefore of high value. We work hard, but always have a positive, cheerful and inclusive atmosphere.
The role - What do we offer?
You will be a part of our housing team dealing with mainly large high pressure die casted components. You will carry out design and development work in new transmission projects as well as updates of our current housings in production. They weigh about 15 to 40kg and have a quite complex shape and function.
Therefore you will take on design challenges in regards of advanced 3D CAD modeling, manufacturability, function and strength.
This includes:
Lead the cross functional teamwork with suppliers, machining and assembly plants, purchasing, quality assurance, aftermarket & service organization.
3D modeling and drawing preparation for the components.
Create, follow up and participate in the design and verification plan in the projects.
Contribute to refinement of our CAD methodology and documentation of the methods.
Who we believe you are
We believe that you are a person who is driven, structured and target oriented. Apart from your interest in technology as well as manufacturing processes, you are a team player who also manages to perform on your own and who communicates effectively with others.
To be successful in this position we believe that you have:
M.Sc. degree (within Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent technical field together with experience in the automotive industry.
Knowledge from 3D modeling and drawing preparation, preferably in ProEngineer/CREO of complex die casted components.
Good understanding of simulation and CAE results.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferably you have knowledge in powertrain engineering.
Are we a perfect match?
We promise you some truly exciting technical challenges and the opportunity to join a team of skilled colleagues. We are eager to learn from you and you will get fantastic opportunities to learn and develop with us.
At Powertrain Engineering we are actively working to establish teams that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality. We hope to hear from you!
