Safety Electronics has been a rapidly growing part of Volvo Car Corporation over the last decade. The area of Active Safety where Volvo, through continuous launching innovative and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo.
Within Protective Safety we are now looking for a Design Engineer who will become part of the team.
We protect occupants inside the car and pedestrians outside in a crash situation. Electronic sensors and ECU's detects, determines and activates different devices i.e. bags and belts in case of an accident. We are looking for a new position as Function Realisation Responsible, FRR. The FRR role takes responsibility for the total coordination of the electrical realisation of one function according to the Generic Function list coming from Product Structure Description document, where it's applicable within SRS, ERR, Pedestrian and Safe Stop systems.
Main responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the work to allocate the responsibility for each participating subsystem within the electrical system and to develop a solution for the interaction between the subsystems.
Tasks
* Lead and coordinate the work with function realisation.
* Put together a general description of the participating subsystems and their responsibilities in realising the electrical function
* Refine FDR requirements and allocate a complete FDR requirement to a subsystem.
* When there are safety goals or ASIL classified requirements these shall be taken care of according to safety rules.
* Support the the functional owner in the Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) work.
* Follow-up and report status of the realisation of the participating subsystems and components, including the status of the verification in each project phase.
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. degree in engineering within electronics
* Driver 's license valid in Sweden
* Excellent English skills, verbally and written
* Experience of automotive industry
* Experience of electronics and software development
* Good knowledge of system design and requirement handling in general
