Design Engineer Powertrain Controls Hardware Development
The Powertrain Controls & Calibration Hardware Development team is responsible for the development of control units, sensors and wiring harness. This assignment is mainly within electrical system including wiring harness development for our projects. This includes working with requirements, have close contact with our suppliers (progress follow-up, testing follow-up, inform about changes, etc), working close to our colleagues in Geely Powertrain Research Institute, handling issues and changes, secure that the routing and packaging is optimal (i.e. working close both to our CAD responsible), etc. Initative and strive of the applicant will open more opportunities for personal development and increased responsibilities within the team.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Specify the hardware requirements for wiring harnesses including connectors and validate them internally and with suppliers.
- Take lead in gathering, negotiating, updating, and documenting requirements, and provide technical expertise during the purchasing process.
- Be actively involved from concept to the series phase.
- Review and approve validation plans proposed by the supplier.
- Perform reviews on various projects and support as hardware specialist in various project teams.
- Handle issues and introduce sustainable corrective measures.
- Work together with Quality Assurers for quality improvement actions.
Profile and Background
- BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic, Physics, or related engineering field, or the equivalent experience.
- A couple of years of experience is an advantage but we are also considering newly graduated.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring harnesses including connectors.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing aspects.
- Knowledge of control units and sensors.
- Good overall knowledge of transmission and hybrid control systems.
- High motivation to work independently and in team.
- Creative problem solving skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Cultural awareness, especially Asian - European culture.
- Driving license type B.
