At Valmet in Karlstad, you'll be part of a passionate team within a global company that delivers market-leading products. We are a complete supplier of machines, equipment, and services for customers in the global paper industry.
Our mission is to work closely with our customers throughout the entire delivery chain, identifying customer needs and providing tailored machine solutions.
We are now looking for two Design Engineers to join two of our four engineering teams, comprising around 60 engineers in total. We look forward to welcoming new team members!
Key responsibilities
You will be part of a group that includes roles in mechanical design and technical project management. There are great opportunities for growth, both within design and in customer project roles. As a designer, you will also have the chance to deepen your expertise and take responsibility for specific machine sections or components over time.
Your main tasks will include producing drawings and technical documentation for the purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly of our customers' tissue machines. You will also be involved in ongoing development and maintenance of our products and components.
Some travel may be required as part of the role.
Expectations
To succeed in this role, you enjoy working in a team environment but are also comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your responsibilities. You are a strong communicator, solution-oriented, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or have equivalent professional experience focused on mechanical design. Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential. Experience in the paper or process industry, or in working with technical product design and manufacturing processes, is considered a strong merit.
We place great value on your personal qualities and are looking for a true team player with strong interpersonal skills. This is a stimulating role with close connections to both production and pre-assembly, providing a unique overall view of the final product in your daily work.
Why join Valmet?
At Valmet, we combine world-class technology with a strong focus on people. We believe in sustainability, innovation, and teamwork, and we know our employees are our most valuable assets. Here, you'll have the opportunity to grow, make an impact, and help shape the future of the industry. You will play a crucial role in supporting and challenging our management and project teams in a complex international environment.
