About Group IT

Group IT is located in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We are 1400 employees responsible for running the bank, developing and maintening business strategic and central systems in Swedbank.

All development is managed in projects and we deliver approximately 600 projects and pre-studies during a business year.

Head of Service Operations Division, Patrik Landin, is searching for the candidates to the managerial position Department manager in Mainframe Integration.

Service Operations - the mission of the Service Operations is to Deliver, Operate and Develop all Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) services in a flexible, cost-effective and high quality manner to the customers.

Service Operations is accountable for execute daily operations for all I&O services, lifecycle management and build according to existing frameworks, guidelines, standards, and architectural roadmaps.

Service Operations is responsible for maintenance and development of all I&O services, provide 2 nd and 3 rd line support, development of yearly plans and propose estimated budget, deliver new and ensure continual improvements of all I&O services and contract management with external service providers.

Assignment specification

The Department – Mainframe Integration has a mission to do operation and maintenance of systems running on z/OS. The department consists of app. 20 employees located at Stora Essingen, Stockholm

As a Department Manager you take the full responsibility for operation and maintenance within Mainframe Integration areas. You will work very close to our IT Development. Your goal is to secure a stable operation and high quality in all deliveries. You will further be responsible for full life-cycle of Mainframe Integration products and systems.

You will be a member of the Service Operations Management team and report directly to the Head of Service Operations, Patrik Landin.

The Department Manager role within Service Operations is to:

Finalize and improve continuously the set-up of the department Lead, coordinate and follow up the team in a short, mid and long term perspective Ensure all deliveries, maintenance and projects according to agreed requirements, resources and improvements within the department Work as a team with Sub-Service Owner, Domain architect and other Department managers Based on decided strategies, secure that these will be executed at the department Continuously work with improvements in Risk & Stability area Secure to deliver due to decided KPI’s
To succeed in this role we expect you to:

Be enthusiastic and self-driven person, have good interpersonal skills and be creative and dedicated. You are well-organized and you have a methodical way of working. Have at least 3 years’ experience as a manager. And you as a manager priorities people development, collaboration and good performance culture.
Understand the technical area, meaning you show enough level of expertise in the area or willingness to learn and show progress in this to be able to express and explain the general logic of the area; you are able to represent the area in other parts of the organization; you rely on the top experts within the delivery area;
It is also important that you are aware of quality and service and have a desire to learn new things. Fluent English is necessary for this position.
