PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
This role is a key customer interface role and requires a high professional approach combining firmness with the ability to earn and maintain respect from customers in the face of the demands of our market sector. As well as to be the focal point for accurate, timely and professionally managed customer communication.
Key objectives
To understand in depth the customer's requirements and ensure that internal factory material planning is organized to achieve that requirement.
To understand the variations in the manufacturing process on a day-to-day basis in order to be able to provide competent, fully informed input to the customer.
To establish a professional relationship with the customer based on respect and confidence in the information provided.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To independently handle all aspects of the customer's delivery requirements by use of all forecasting tools, verbal or written forecasts, visit reports, meetings or telephone contact with the customer.
• To visit the prime customers regularly, establishing good personal contact with key customer personnel, ensuring validity of all information and discussing trends.
• Driving the processes to monitor customer forecast accuracy.
• To independently manage all aspects of the Sales Order Processing / Contract Review process.
• To independently generate weekly manufacturing plan liaisoning with the Head of Materials Planning and Logistics and the Production Manager to ensure compliance to Customer needs.
• Establish and ensure a professional interface with Inside Sales Reps.
• To work closely with the manufacturing teams to be aware of production variations.
• To establish and monitor key internal customer facing metrics related to:
• Contract Review
To report on these metrics weekly:
• To actively lead the activities to achieve improvements in the key internal metrics.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Master of Science degree in business or related field.
Experience
Requires 7- 10 years of materials planning experience within telecom industry.
Experiences from other Supply chain areas such as Purchasing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Advanced knowledge of MRP II (Materials Requirements Planning) systems
• Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Project.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships both internally and externally
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge in multiple languages is preferable. Spanish, French and Estonian or Chinese are most preferable.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to focus and guide others in accomplishing work objectives.
