Are you a creative, curious and analytical programmer, statistician or engineer interested in putting your skills to work to improve global safety of medicines? We are looking for three data scientists to join our multi-disciplinary research teams of pharmacists, doctors, nurses and data scientists at the Uppsala Monitoring Centre, the WHO collaborating centre for international drug monitoring.

You will have the opportunity to
• Develop advanced computational methods on global data to identify risks of medicines
• Design, code, test and document software applications for data analysis
• Participate in international collaborative projects with universities, health authorities and pharmaceutical industry

You have
• Experience/training in programming and statistics and/or mathematics
• A Master's degree in Computational sciences, Engineering, Mathematical statistics, or equivalent
• Fluent written and verbal English skills

You might also have
• Experience/training in system development, database handling, data modelling, data mining or data visualization
• The ability to work professionally in an additional language to English

You are expected to be
• Creative, curious and analytical with an aptitude for and interest in data analysis
• Solution-oriented, focusing on applied value and seeing challenges as opportunities to excel
• A team player, who wants to work in an international organization and in a multi-disciplinary team

One of the positions is targeting more junior applicants. The positions are full-time and begin with a trial period of six months based at the Uppsala Monitoring Centre office in Uppsala, Sweden. Our organisation's operational language is English and all applicants must be proficient in the use of English in their work environment.
