What we offer
Volvo Cars have an ambitious growth plan for connected functionality, autonomous drive, driveline electrification, energy management and vehicle control. Safe Vehicle Automation, SVA, has big influence and dependencies to them all.
To mitigate the security threats presented to a complex vehicle control system, we need solid foundation of competence within the area of Cyber Security. This is where you can come in, a passioned Cyber security Engineer who likes to support development ART's and teams in their cyber security work. This position is centrally organized on solution level to support all ART's and teams within SVA. Each ART have dedicated engineers within the field of cyber security who will be your main contacts.
What you'll do
You get inspired by our mission to give our customers "Freedom to move". You have a wide focus. To develop strategies/concepts connected to common cyber security and data protection/privacy challenges within SVA in close connection with other cyber security expert and knowledge centers across all developing
units. To support teams in cyber security related tasks connected to ongoing development. To support SVA management in decisions and directions related to cyber security.
Moreover, you will have the opportunity to take part in the design and review of future architectural concepts as well as process related activities.
You and your skills
We believe that you have a M.Sc. or higher degree in Software, Electrical, Computer engineering with cybersecurity specialization, or equivalent education and a strong understanding for the threat landscape of a connected device and the mitigation mechanisms needed for protection.
You use your skills as Cybersecurity Engineer and your passion for security in embedded systems to expand your technical insights and to build and maintain a network that includes people from different areas in the company.
You have a curious and learning mindset and driven by customer focus can find your way forward without having all facts at hand. You are flexible and master communication and documentation skills. With your positive attitude you are constructive in working with both individuals and in a team.

Some preferred experiences and competences
• Examine security from a holistic view, including threat modelling, risk, and vulnerability assessment.
• Good understanding of automotive cybersecurity best practices, standards (e.g., ISO 21434) and regulations (e.g., UNECE R155).
• Knowledge and experience on vehicle networks and communication protocols such as CAN, TCP/IP, IEEE 802.11x, BLE, and Bluetooth
• Previous knowledge of automotive related standards such as UDS and SOME/IP
