We are a 4-team sized tech department in Stockholm consisting of developers, teamleads, designers, QA and product managers. We work with a modern tech stack, built mainly with Ruby on Rails in the backend and Javascript / React in the frontend. We focus on building our apps, while letting cloud services run them for us and we use various big data services to process our customers data and the media landscape around us, to allow a truly data driven PR workflow.
The role
As the CTO you will be responsible for our technical platform and the vision of it, taking on an operative architectural role in supporting the product and development department.
• Be responsible for our tech roadmap and platform strategy.
• Serve as a representative of the tech department in the Mynewsdesk executive committe
• Ensure tech quality and service of the platform.
• Shoulder a strategic responsibility for the security work at Mynewsdesk and partake in Company groups security chapters.
• Head your own platform team in maintaining and improving the platform
• Be a technical coach for all of the development teams.
• Support and direct guidelines and principles in Mynewsdesk chapters (FE, BE, Security where the developers coordinate and decide on tech design and solutions).
• Interact with our third-party vendors.
You have experience in:
• At least 5 years of experience from working as an architect and you are committed to code and technical solutions.
• You have a very good understanding of systems and previous experience from work with systems development
• Full-stack development
• Working with development of strategies and roadmaps.
• From work with quality assurance of technical solutions. You are also well experienced in the development of guidelines and deciding on options for technical frameworks.
• You have experience of leading and coaching a group of individuals.
• You are fluent in English, both in writing and speaking since it is our working language.
Preferred but not required!
If you also have knowledge of Ruby on Rails, React and understanding of AWS we consider it meriting. SAAS experience is also meriting.It is also positive with experience in staff liability, competence/experience from work with informational security and in case you have taken part in work with modernizing platforms and integration of several products.

You are a doer, a humble, down-to-earth person who loves to get things done. You are result oriented, pragmatic and quick on your feet with a strategic capability. You have great documentation and communication skills and can be informative and clear.
