Who you are

For this role we believe you have broad experience in Business management or similar. We would like to see that you have a proven record of delivering results as well as experience in leading and influencing co-workers. You also have experience of working with food trends within a larger organization, food experience development and multichannel customer journey. Further, you have experience from retail, preferably home furnishing or food sector.
You have broad knowledge of Group strategies, priorities and business planning process as well as of operational plans and goals including follow up on KPIs. You have broad knowledge of food trends that influence the market and how to combine them with IKEA food strategy to create commercially viable offers as well as of how consumer acts, feels and behaves (including online) in a multichannel retail environment to apply the insights in the food experience design in all touchpoints. You also have good knowledge of IKEA food business and food retail operations. When it comes to the local market you have broad knowledge about the local market environment, expectations from customers today and tomorrow to secure that commercial and service offers meet customer demands and needs.
Finally, you possess good change and stakeholder management skills and know how to apply these in an extremely ambiguous environment requiring cross functional collaboration. You have ability to understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of Commercial as an integrated part of the business. Furthermore, you have strong ability to lead while communicating in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice. You also have strong analytical skills with the ability to take a holistic view of a global organization and identify business opportunities accordingly combined with ability to priorities relevant operational data and make decisions with speed and simplicity.
Your responsibilities
In the role as Country Food Commercial Manager, you are responsible for leading the importance for Food to attract, engage and drive visitation and customer satisfaction as well as optimize sales, gross margin and profit in order to enable for extraordinary growth. You are also responsible for leading the Food Commercial team, strengthening food commercial competence and leading activities to address key gaps of food commercial and sales performance, effectiveness and efficiency.
You will:
• Support units to drive food commercial excellence through coaching, knowledge transfer and information sharing to, and between, the units
• Lead the Food Commercial Team through planning, coaching and coordinating commercial activities in order to deliver to the common objectives and goals
• Continuously monitor units, competitors and the market to identify and capitalize on commercial opportunities
• Be responsible to steer food pricing and ensure competitive pricing through collaborating with different stakeholders within Food and Commercial
• Contribute insights and ideas to the market business plan as an integrated commercial partner
• Be responsible for forecasting and setting sales & supply country plan in line with financial plan
• Optimize food sales, conversion, gross margin and profit as well as support units to address deviations, reports and analysis supplied by Business Navigator
• Be responsible for integration of food into activity and commercial calendar by working closely with stakeholders in and outside Commercial
• Plan, conduct and follow-up commercial performance and review as well as act upon them to ensure performance excellence throughout the year
• Implement common food commercial framework, standards, WoW (way of working), tools and KPI's adapting to local legislation and laws
• Lead the food experience improvements and food innovation initiatives through actively collaborating with peers in food as well as relevant stakeholders in order to identify improvement areas
• Contribute with knowledge transfer and information sharing to and between the units
• Actively cooperate with all key stakeholders within commercial and beyond to secure integration, common focus and to maximize impact (for example Digital, CFF (Customer Fulfilment), Communications, Sustainability, BNOF (Business Navigation Operations & Finance), People & Culture)
• Be an active player in driving an open and sharing climate, be a role model of the IKEA values and contribute to the transformation of IKEA
• Be an active player in working on sustainability within food (sourcing of local ingredients, circularity in production, usage of sustainable materials and services)
In this role you will report to the Country Food Manager.
