Scania is undergoing a big technical transformation, away from the traditional fossil fuelled trucks and buses towards electrified and autonomous vehicles.

Team Brake performance (RTCS) is responsible for brake- and performance testing on Scania trucks and drives the development of the entire brake system. The teams consist of both engineers and mechanics. The team members have deep knowledge and experience within the brake system and are responsible for the brake performance at Scania as a whole. Our goal is to develop a brake system with correct performance, quality and functionality and with the highest safety. We are also responsible for fulfilling the latest legislation and certification needs.

With the increased number of projects and initiatives affecting the brake system we see a need to increase our capability within certification. We also see a need for a more focused role, someone who can be our speaking partner as well as the main point of contact for issues concerning brake certification. Come join us!

Your role

As the coordinator and test engineer for brake certificates you will plan, coordinate and execute assignments related to brake certification for heavy trucks. You will take part in the teams bigger development projects as well as support for example our special order organisation with smaller certification tasks. Besides being part of a highly experienced team you will cooperate with our certification department, cross functions within R&D and with our legislation authority RDW in Holland.

The tasks will range from defining, planning and coordinating certification tests, all the way to pre-testing and final documentation. Your work will be a mix of more administrational tasks as well as physical testing in our pneumatic rigs. In the longer perspective, depending on your experience, you will also perform pre-testing with trucks on our test track.

In this role you will be able to build great knowledge of the brake system on a Scania truck with the support of your senior colleagues.

Your profile

You have some experience either within legal analysis and/or project management or similar. By others you are described as structured, communicative, thorough and flexible. You are engaged in your work and is not afraid to take your own initiatives. You are a team player with an open and collaborative mindset

You are capable of expressing yourself fluently in English. You have a bachelor or master degree within relevant engineering area. Driver license C, CE are meriting. Earlier experience within Scania is meriting.

Since our certification agency is located in Holland business traveling will be expected to some extent.
