In the Industrial Market business area we support industrial market OEMs and end-users throughout the life cycle of their assets. We are responsible for selling a full range of products and solutions to address their needs, as well as managing business development, manufacturing, engineering, distribution and customer service. Our business area is present in more than 100 countries and represents around two thirds of SKF's total sales.

The SKF ConRo product line team is responsible for the global development of integrated solutions for the application field of continuous casting machines for steel production.
Technical knowledge for this specific area is continuously built and delivered since about 15 years to grow the SKF caster business and specifically the ConRo system and service solution.

The ConRo product development team delivers technical solutions to two main areas linked to the ConRo business, namely product development and customer project engineering, including product, tooling and production machinery.

We are now looking for a

ConRo Development Engineer

As a Development engineer, for mechanical solutions, you will be working together with engineers, project leaders and specialists in the current team of six persons, providing the development of new products and components for the ConRo solutions and customer projects.

Job responsibilities
• Carry out technical development for new functions on our mechanical, mechatronic and measurement solutions
• Adapt our solutions to customer specific needs in customer projects including activities at customer sites
• Support factories in engineering tasks

Job requirements
• Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering
• Several years of experience from mechanical design, CAD (Creo Parametric), calculation and verification within mechanical applications, including design, manufacturing process, production tooling, fixtures and assembly machinery.
• Senior experience from producing 3D and 2D manufacturing documents, including material, geometry, tolerances, standards and process
• Experience of product development process
• Experience within the field of steel production and/or heavy machinery is a merit.

Personal profile
• Broad technical understanding, interest and hands on mechanical skills
• Innovative with a high level of own drive and commitment
• Ability and willingness to take action
• Good communication skills
• Being fluent in English and Swedish, spoken and written is a prerequisite
• Experience from working with customer relations is an advantage.
• Ability and willingness to travel for work on international sites.
