Position Description
We are looking for a Computer Operator that will be a part of the VMS and Stockholm Staden team, working in our shift 24*7 runtime operations. You will carry out advance monitoring for our different services and products and also carry out maintenance activities in our dedicated environments. You are responsible for ensuring that documentation of instructions for monitoring; set up by Infrastructure technical department is followed. Support the technicians within the area of responsibility. You will contribute to localization and resolution regarding infrastructure and/or applications. Work in a proactive way proposing changes that makes systems more efficient and/or reduce number of alarms.
A shift team consists of two people working on a continuous eight-week schedule 24*7.
Service monitoring has the responsibility to monitor environments to run infrastructure and applications services at the right cost, security, quality and optimal levels.
Main responsibilities
• Carry out advanced monitoring and control of components used on all VMS and Windows platforms
• Maintenance activities on our different platforms
• Support and mentor technicians needing help
• Working proactively with problems and efficiency
• Analyze alarms and issues
• Sharing knowledge within the group
• Document process and working procedures as and when required
• Adherence and compliance to various process and procedures
• Identify process/technical gaps and propose improvement plans
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, includes but not limited to activities like involving in knowledge transfers, providing technical/process trainings to other team members on a need basis
• Identify opportunities and suggest improvements towards innovation/automation day-to-day (operational activities) that will result in improved efficiency.
Qualifications and skills
• Some experience from Service Monitoring
• Knowledge in VMS is preferable
• Knowledge in Windows Server Operation is preferable
• Strong English, written and spoken
• Good communicative and cooperative skills
• Commitment to customer delivery
• Structured with planning skills
• Previous operation experience
• Experience from shift duty and support work is preferable
