The section 97670 is responsible for boosting and exhaust systems within Propulsion Power systems department. This includes advanced engineering projects, concept work and industrialization of products. Within the department the exhaust aftertreatment systems are developed both for diesel and gasoline engines
The group 97672 has the system responsibility for developing exhaust aftertreatment systems for VCC's gasoline engines for emission legislation worldwide. We are responsible for the catalytic substrates and the washcoat. We are also responsible for the lambda sensors both in gasoline and diesel engines. The group consists of 17 persons.The group cooperates with neighbouring groups within engine engineering as well as purchasing, certification and the calibration group.
As component responsible for exhaust aftertreatment system you will have the lead and the responsibility that parts are delivered during the project and over the lifetime. In this role you will be involved in development work as well as more project related items like time-plans and deliveries to different vehicle build series. In your daily work you will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing and internally with the GDL, SA3 and design engineers. Example of current projects are the new direct injected gasoline engines, both three and four cylinder engines both in conventional drivetrains and in hybrid drive trains. Challenges within the area are new stricter emission legislation both in EU, China and US.
Main responsibilities
* Develop or make changes to substrates and washcoat
* Bring the parts you are responsible for into production - newly developed or running changes
* Responsible that we fulfil deliveries to concerned project(s)
* Responsible for technical documents
* Cross-functional co-operation with other areas within Powertrain and R&D
* Be part of the sourcing process
Required qualifications
* BSc in mechanical engineering or equivalent
* Understanding and experience from Volvo Product Development Process with knowledge of VCC-systems such as TCe, KDP, LEQM, LN, Lab95 etc.
* Fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken)
* Theoretical and practical knowledge within the system area is meritorious

* Structured approach coupled with sense of urgency
* Proactive - interested in and capable of driving issues
* Communicative and socially open minded
