Vehicle Electronics is one of five Global Technology Areas (GTA) within Global Electrical and Electronics Engineering. We are represented on all Volvo Global Trucks Technology (GTT) sites and consist of around 130 skilled engineers in the area of:
• Chassis functions & electronics
• Vehicle functions & electronics
• Safety functions & electronics
• Customer & Transport Adaptation
Position Description:
At the group Chassis Function & Electronics within Electrical & Electronics Engineering product development at Volvo GTT we are looking for an Electrical Control Unit Owner (ECU Owner).
The ECU Owner has the overall lifecycle responsibility of an ECU including ECU Hardware, ECU Software and interface and compatibility towards connected sensors and actuators. Your mission is to maintain and secure ECU quality, functionality, design, performance and commonality between brands and segments throughout the ECU lifecycle, having an overall knowledge of how the functionality is realized in the ECU.
As ECU owner You will be located in Lundby, Gothenburg, and work in the team responsible for developing chassis functions. The software- and hardware development teams are located either at an external supplier, development partner or in-house.
Our mission is to deliver world class products in the area of chassis functions & electronics where we are constantly challenged to provide the best solutions in terms of timing, feature, quality and cost.
You will in this role be the main responsible for your control units and have a large network cross-functionally and globally.

Main Responsibilities:
• Plan and lead the work of the cross functional team involved in the development of an ECU
• Develop and maintain the ECU product roadmap in line with overall technical strategies
• Manage and maintain external supplier dialogue at all design stages and also during maintenance phase, in close cooperation with purchasing
• Plan and follow up supplier related activities
• Plan and secure deliveries of a quality secured ECU (Software and Hardware) to system integration
• Lead preparation of and participate in selected steering committees
• Support Supplier Quality Engineer
• Coordinate overall quality activities (FMEA, safety analysis, defect report resolution etc.) for the ECU
• Participate in concept-study teams and advanced engineering
Required Competencies:
• Experience and knowledge in embedded systems development within the automotive industry, or other relevant industry
• Leadership skills, with ability to motivate and encourage team members
• Excellent communication- as well as presentation skills
• Supplier partnership skills
• Experience from industrializing embedded systems
• General product management
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• Experience from APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) is a merit
