If yes, we invite you to seize this opportunity to be part of a global business as a Component Engineer for Embedded Hardware within Process Control Platform.
Process Control Platform is a unit within ABB's division Industrial Automation. We are responsible for development, marketing and delivery of automation products, both hardware and software for monitoring, control and optimization. We sell and deliver automation systems to all types of process industries. With the ABB AbilityTM System 800xA we offer unique opportunities to synchronize data from the manufacturing process with additional information systems and enable all decision information available in real-time to our customers.
You will become a part of our Component Team which has the responsibility for our component handling and component database.
Tasks
You will be responsible for component selection, component lifecycle management and investigations, interface towards component suppliers and towards manufacturing suppliers (EMS).
Focusing both on new development as well as maintenance of existing products and customer support.
Supporting our developers in technical investigations.
Managing maintenance projects as well as acting as stakeholder towards suppliers to ensure high-quality production.
Close collaboration and communication, both internal and external, which will give you great opportunities to broaden your network within industrial automation.

Background
A Bachelor engineering degree in relevant field.
Previous experience from electrical design and knowledge of electronics manufacturing is advantageous.
A strong sense of personal drive and the ability to make decisions based on technical aspects as well as market needs.
Positive and problem-solving attitude with a will to propose and implement solutions. As a person being a good communicator and an excellent team player who delivers timely and in an efficient manner.
When you enjoy developing sustainable relations with co-workers, clients and suppliers - this contributes in this position to the future success.
As your work shall be a part of a global business, you need to be fluent in English, written and spoken alike, and since the position is located in Västerås, Sweden, the knowledge of Swedish is preferred.
