One job within the Volvo Group generates a number of other job opportunities directly at subcontractors and indirectly in the rest of society.The department that this role belongs to is Powertrain Base Engine - Fluid Management, which is a continental team in charge of defining strategies, selecting and managing suppliers and negotiating contractual agreements for the entire automotive production components. We work in close cooperation with their engineering counter parts in the early phases of development to establish a common technical/purchasing road map.Role descriptionWe are now looking for a Commodity Buyer for Pumps and Thermostats. You will have the key purchasing role to mature the purchasing wanted position and strategy in a cross functional mode with engineering, aftermarket, quality and manufacturing as main stakeholders.Main responsibilities:You will drive all relevant activities to deliver on QDCFTSR targets during production phase. QDCFTSR = Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk ManagementYou will also be responsible for production and after production with activities such as handling supplier crisis, supplier switch activities, follow-up of contracts and agreements with suppliers and ensure implementationManage and negotiate product/processes changes during production phase and after production phasePerform daily purchasing activities related to supplier base management, production orders, logistics and financial flows to the suppliersWho are you, our new colleague?Most important of all is your good communication skills and your positive mindset, since the job is about networking, maintaining and developing relationships and solving unexpected problems. Since this is a role where you will be accountable for some of our very important segments on a strategic level, we also expect you to have the ability to independently drive and complete tasks, with honesty and integrity.Key requirements:University degree in technology and/or business (Master Degree required)Negotiation skills and drive to look for cost improvement opportunitiesStrong interest in developing relationships with stakeholdersStrategic understanding and thinkingAnalytical skills.
