Sprint Bioscience is looking to recruit a Director of Protein Science to lead our dedicated and high-performing protein science team. SPRINT BIOSCIENCE IN SHORT
Sprint Bioscience develops small-molecule drugs to fight cancer. With fragment-based drug design methods, advanced technical approaches, and leading specialists, we develop the drugs of the future - from the idea stage to a clinical candidate with the goal set at being "First-in-Class". Our business model is to identify and run drug development projects and license these in the preclinical phase to the global pharmaceutical industry. We choose projects with the greatest technical and commercial potential for success. Sprint Bioscience has had a yearly growth since its start in 2009. Today, we are about 30 committed employees who work closely together in a stimulating environment with cutting-edge methodology and challenging projects. We also collaborate with several academic and industrial partners from all over the world. We are situated in tailored designed premises in Flemingsberg - Huddinge, 20 minutes by train from Stockholm City.
ABOUT THE POSITION
You will be leading the Protein Science team, consisting of 7 scientists with expertise in protein production, biophysics, biochemistry, and structural biology. The team is contributing with assay data and protein structures to our ongoing projects and is also responsible for the establishment of new projects in the Sprint Bioscience pipeline. You will be responsible for the planning and performance of the team and the continuous scientific development of each team member. You will have budget and personnel responsibility for the team and will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. You will also be a member of the research management team together with the directors of Medicinal chemistry and Tumor biology.

YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Key qualifications for the position include:
• A strong scientific background in the areas of structural biology, biochemistry, assay development, or protein production
• In-depth knowledge of drug discovery processes to enable the strategic development of the team and its capabilities.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and an understanding of the global pharma expectations on drug discovery projects.
• Proven track record as a successful team leader with the ability to balance both the high level scientific and strategic discussions with operative day-to-day tasks
• Analytical mindset and strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills in both English and Swedish
