Job Description
The Commercial Manager's main objective is to provide commercial expertise to the Business Tech organization, to deliver expected business value throughout the product life cycle. Based on tech expertise and strong ability/extensive experience in Tech sourcing & procurement, you support by bringing rigor to business cases, executing deals that are qualitative, price-competitive in relation to the market and achieve business objectives, while identifying ways to optimize ongoing relationships with external partners. You have great leadership skills and are focused on value creation and growth by delivering commercial expertise that enables excellent customer experience and business results. Whilst being an expert in a specific commercial area (sourcing, vendor service management or admin and governance), you are also a strong leader and work closely with other stakeholders both within and outside H&M to ensure that we are doing the right thing at the right time.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement Tech sourcing strategy and policies.
Lead and develop a diverse team of commercial advisors.
Establish effective commercial models.
Maximize value from supplier relationships.
Ensure internal customers have essential goods and services.
Drive cost efficiency and optimizations.
Collaborate on synergies with the Head of Commercial and Procurement.
Support vendor selection and negotiation processes.
Coordinate with product and design teams for supplier alignment.
Qualifications
Core Competencies:
Proven expertise in contract and price negotiation with strong relationships in the tech industry.
Effective management of people, vendors, and technology on a global scale.
Interpersonal skills honed through experience in procurement and leadership roles.
Solid financial background with a focus on bottom-line results.
Proficient in organizing and structuring complex matters.
Well-versed in procurement and supplier management best practices.
Capability to develop, establish, and train on processes.
Track record of negotiating complex and successful deals.
Experience in designing and managing multi-vendor setups, including incentive and penalty structures.
Proficient in shaping, negotiating, and managing vendor performance under various constructs (e.g. RFP/RFI, Service based ARC/PRC, Fixed Price, Fixed Outcome).
Advocate for agile methods in working style.
Desirable Competencies:
Functional Skills are beneficial, including knowledge of:
ITIL, Agile Engineering, and CI/CD disciplines
Core infrastructure components, cloud, and data centers
Data platforms, analytics, AI, and ML
Modern tech stacks for front-end development
SAP and core RDBMS platforms
SaaS/Cloud-Based products
Performance Management
