Do you have expertise and experience in clinical pharmacology, PK, PKPD, Model Informed Drug Development and its application in drug development? Would you like to apply your expertise in a company that is following the science and turn ideas into life changing medicines? We have the position for you at AstraZeneca!

This is an opportunity for a hardworking and engaged individual to join our growing Clinical Pharmacology and Quantitative Pharmacology team at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg, Sweden and develop as a Clinical Pharmacology Scientist supporting large and small molecule projects across full development within the therapy area of Respiratory & Immunology.

Within the Clinical Pharmacology and Safety Sciences function, we have a state-of-the-art quantitative clinical pharmacology group with a diverse and uniquely skilled team of clinical pharmacometricians and clinical pharmacology scientists. Gothenburg is a key research and development location for our Respiratory & Immunology area.

There's no better place to make a difference to medicine, patients and society. An inclusive culture that champions diversity and collaboration. Always committed to lifelong learning, growth and development.

What you will do:
You will work closely with clinical pharmacometricians, physicians and other scientists, and apply your expertise and leadership skills to contribute to the strategy of the clinical program and the design and interpretation of clinical studies. You will influence key decisions in early and late phases of clinical development. The role also includes representing Clinical Pharmacology and Quantitative Pharmacology in cross-functional project teams, and take responsibility for developing the clinical pharmacology strategy.

Furthermore, you'll work with integration of relevant data - such as dose information, pharmacokinetics, biomarkers and clinical endpoints within and across studies, compounds and development stages. You will also take part in identifying opportunities to apply model informed drug development to accelerate and inform decision making. As well as communicate your findings within and outside of AstraZeneca and publish in peer reviewed journals.

Depending on your previous experience and competencies, the level and responsibility of the position can be adjusted and tailored to suit you.

Essential in the role:

* PhD or equivalent (M.Sc/Pharm.D.) level expertise in a relevant field
* A background in, and a clear understanding of, clinical pharmacology aspects of drug development, preferably in both small and large molecules
* Solid knowledge of pharmacokinetics, its clinical application and regulatory context
* Knowledge and experience in use of PK and PKPD modeling applied to life sciences
* Biological understanding of disease and drug action
* Good oral and written communication skills

Desirable in the role:

* Track record in creating and delivering on clinical pharmacology strategies of both small and large molecules
* Recognised clinical pharmacology expertise demonstrated by scientific publishing in the field of clinical pharmacology
* Early and late phase clinical development experience
