Computational fluid dynamics for process applications

We are a team developing and supporting industrial applications based on mixing, aeration and other fluids handling technologies. Beyond our main area of interest - mixing, aeration and biological processes in wastewater treatment - we work in renewable energy, aquaculture, off-shore and other areas. Your job among us will include R&D and sales activity in single-phase and multi-phase flows with and without mass transfer and reaction kinetics, as well as in non-newtonian fluid flow and mass transfer systems.

Job Description
As our next computational fluid dynamics (CFD) engineer, you will play several roles.
1. Marketing and sales: You will verify designs in sales projects using CFD and modify/innovate as appropriate. You will play an active role in customer meetings, produce presentations, reports, and technical papers, and market and develop our CFD capability.
2. R&D: You will develop our CFD methods and apply them to our municipal and industrial applications development.
3. CFD management: We hope you are the right person to organize and manage CFD resources, projects and documentation, and collaborate across the organization. Xylem currently have CFD activities on three continents.

Qualifications
You probably have a Ph D or M Sc Degree in Fluid Dynamics and a related discipline of engineering (Aeronautical/Naval, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, etc.), and a profound understanding of some relevant field of fluid dynamics, preferably multiphase flow.

You also have a profound understanding of CFD fundamentals, including discretization schemes, geometry and mesh representation, turbulence models, boundary conditions, trade-off between effort and result, etc. With some 5 years industrial experience of commercial or professional level CFD codes , post-processing tools and preferably 3D CAD tools you will be agile in our environment.
