BioLamina is a new rapidly expanding biotechnology company within the stem cell and cell differentiation fields that produces and sells high quality human recombinant laminins. The laminins available from us at the moment have been well accepted by the research community and now we have to expand our production capacity. The company just moved to state-of-the-art facilities with a GMP-laboratory in Sundbyberg, Sweden.
About Laminins
Laminins are the foundation that cells grow on in vivo and all evidence so far indicates that these proteins are the most optimal growing surface for stem cells, primary cells and can play an important role in cell differentiation in vitro. This is most likely due to the biospecific nature of these proteins. An article published in the June issue of Nature Biotechnology showed that laminins support pluripotent human ES and iPS stem cell growth in a defined and animal protein free environment for over 5 months. This is a major breakthrough in the stem cell field.
