These are some of the things that we work with in our team. We are the main simulation team at Volvo Buses and as such there is a wide variation of work that we do for all our products worldwide. The team consists of 18 friendly and competent FEA and CFD engineers and we are now looking for new colleagues!
We are looking for both senior and lead simulation engineers with experience in durability- or NVH simulation. For both these positions in our team you will help designers develop the best design possible within the limitations available. Difficulties lie in considering low volume production, tough space requirements or weight optimization. Your work will cover the whole simulation process from early design discussions, building models, simulating, presenting results, and supporting after tests or when production starts up. Some jobs are small and quick and some lasts for several years. You will be expected to collaborate, drive your own work, ask a lot of questions, and bring forward your ideas for product or method improvement.
We perform most of our work in Ansa and Nastran and previous experience in these software's is therefore beneficial. Experience from automotive industry and especially heavy-duty vehicles is also a merit but not a must. Since we work in a global organization and have colleagues and group members from different countries you must be fluent in English and talk and present with ease.
In Volvo Buses simulation team, we cannot always rely on guidelines and instructions. New challenges, never evaluated before, are constantly popping up, and we are happy to take these opportunities to learn. We have an open climate in the team and each and everyone's suggestions and ideas count and are required to solve the challenges we face.
