Vehicle dynamics & Active Safety Centre is a department within Active Safety & Chassis. The Vehicle Dynamics CAE section is participating in the development for the whole vehicle and verification by simulating the vehicle handling, steering and ride properties. We do both system and full vehicle analysis. Starting in 2014 we will also be supporting our new driving simulator with real time simulation models. It is also within our responsibility to simulate the ground and wheel clearance. We work in close collaboration with the design and attribute teams in each vehicle program.
As a CAE Engineer Vehicle Dynamics you are responsible for planning and performing CAE analyses, including analyses of results and reports. The responsibilities also include development and documentation of CAE test methods. As part of our expanding team you will be working in a creative environment shaping tomorrow's vehicles and virtual methods. The position level/assignment will be adjusted after the level of experience of the applicant. Due to this we welcome both senior engineers as well as engineers with less professional experience to apply.
Main responsibilities
• CAE analysis and validation
• Optimization of vehicle dynamics and performance
• Process and method development
• Conducting research in advanced vehicle dynamics
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with emphasis in vehicle dynamics
• Proficient in dynamic modeling using ADAMS or equivalent rigid body simulation tool
• CAE experience in the field of vehicle dynamics
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Driver's licence (B-level)
• An asset is experience from Real Time Vehicle Dynamics simulation tools
• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with emphasis in vehicle dynamics is meritorious
Personal qualities
• Self-driven with a positive attitude
• Strong analytical skills
• You plan, conduct, summarise and report your work in a structured and thorough manner
• You have good communication and social skills and a willingness to actively participate in the team's common matters
