Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg and Bangalore, and we have close cooperation with the sites Greensboro and Lyon. We understand the final customer needs and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy customer and business needs. The work is based on innovation, shared technology, common architecture and brand uniqueness.
We are now looking for a Cab Climate System Owner and to be successful in this position you need to have excellent communication and networking skills and a can-do attitude. You need to have the ability to manage several topics simultaneously and plan complex tasks. You can take ownership of your own area, as well as being a team player.
At Thermal Management, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and the society at large. In your daily work, you will be responsible for :-
Leading the development of the cab climate system in our trucks, considering all related aspects like cab climate comfort and cab climate functionality, as well as cab energy optimization
Coordinating and follow up on the technical solutions with all stakeholders and contributors to the cab climate system, inside and outside of Thermal Management organization
Defining the cab climate system roadmap and based on this push for updates in areas impacting the system, ensuring the cab climate system platform
How to succeed?
Detailed knowledge of automotive climate system and requirements (HVAC and air distribution system with relevant sensors, air quality and filtering, A/C system, heating)
Experience of breaking down end user requirements on cab climate system level
Experience from both SW and HW and the integration between them
Meritorious to have:
Experience from complete vehicle/product verification
Applicants shall have a Masters degree in engineering or similar and an excellent proficiency in English (verbal & written). Networking in a global multi-culture organization across all the Volvo Group brands comes naturally.
