Procurement team Vehicle motion and Climate is responsible for direct material to Volvo Cars Plants. We purchase material to new projects and running production for all Volvo Car Corporations manufacturing plants. Vehicle motion and Climate Procurement team is working with some of the systems that makes a difference in a Volvo.
This fantastic group of 11 buyers is looking for a new buyer, complete car direct deliveries. We strive for a positive attitude and having fun every day. We are working in the teams of Brakes, Steering, Wheels & Tires and Fasteners. We have a highly open and energetic work environment where we continuously strive for improvement and welcome all kind of new and creative ideas.
What you'll do
As a buyer you will be part of the global cross functional category team. Where you are an active contributor to the team's deliveries. The overall target is to secure a sustainable and competitive supply base for our future.
We expect you to be the expert of you own business areas, where you will handle sourcing's, capacity, design changes and lead constraint issues. You will also drive the yearly negotiations and setting long-term purchasing strategies.
In the team you will collaborate with colleagues China and in US and in the cross functional teams such as R&D, Supplier quality, logistics and capacity management.
We are constantly improving our ways of working and you will definitely be part of the team development.
Do you fit the profile?
To be successful in this role we believe that you have a commercial and/or technical university degree and a minimum of two years' experience in a similar role. Since you will be dealing with suppliers globally, you need to be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Since you will be handling many issues/projects in parallel, you need to be structured with strong problem solving skills. You have to be a communicative person with the ability to build good and lasting relations and have excellent negotiation skills.
Also, in a fast paced environment you have the ability to drive and complete tasks independently. Last but not least we are looking for someone who want to make a difference and who is motivated by identifying/enabling/creating new solutions and new business opportunities.
Computer Skills, MS Office and especially PowerPoint
Experience from the automotive industry and/or Experience from R&D, logistics is meritorious.
