Role Summary
Joining as a Buyer offers a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into the procurement field. You will build your procurement expertise, develop your commercial and analytical skills, and play an active role in shaping the future of Scania's product portfolio.
You will be part of a collaborative, diverse, and supportive team where continuous learning and development are encouraged. One of your close colleagues will be appointed as a mentor to ensure you have a smooth start in your new role.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the sourcing of components for both development projects and the running business, working closely with Sourcing Managers and cross-functional teams.
• Managing the inbox of procurement tasks and supporting with planning, execution, and implementation of Change Requests
• Coordinating with the R&D interface and securing deliveries of prototypes to test vehicle builds
• Send sourcing packages, collect and evaluate Request for Quotation (RFQ) responses, and support commercial negotiations by assisting Sourcing Managers.
• Handle operational and administrative tasks such as placing orders, managing invoices, and maintaining data in systems like SAP and Matris.
• Participate in 3-ring meetings and contribute to activities such as field quality handling, tool and contract management, capacity planning, supplier introductions, and other ad-hoc tasks
• Identify and drive continuous improvements in tools, processes, and routines in your area
Who You Are
We expect you to have an academic degree in industrial engineering, business or similar.
Previous experience is a plus-but most important is your ambition, curiosity, and willingness to learn and grow. As the role includes communication with global suppliers and collaboration across functions, you are fluent in English-both written and spoken. Additional language skills are a merit.
Being confident working with PCs and having skills in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP is an advantage.
To succeed in this role, you need to be results-oriented and analytical, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured way.
You must have the ability to work long-term and proactively to improve and streamline our operations, supporting colleagues effectively. Comfortable taking initiative and working independently, you thrive in developing your role. You also possess commercial drive and interest, understanding the connection between technology and business.
