Through this transformation Scania will adapt from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to also being a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Mobility Solutions is our new business area with the mission to lead Scania's ambition to take a larger role in the transport ecosystem and to lead our forward integration journey. Mobility Solutions was initially focused on driving Scania's autonomous transport roadmap and providing Transport-as-a-Service (LOTS Group). Now, we also look to develop and deliver new businesses supporting Scania's long-term growth and profitability through our new Corporate Venturing function.
LOTS Group is a fully owned subsidiary of Scania offering integrated transport services globally. The LOTS model is an actualization of Transport as a Service (TaaS) where LOTS owns, operates, and optimizes transport flows for transport buyers. The service is built on four pillars - adoption of Scania's Lean methodology, pioneering new technology, customer-specific solutions, and leading safe, sustainable, and compliant transport. The objective is to build out Scania's commercial and operational capabilities to prepare for a future where new technology will challenge Scania's current business model.
The Position:
We 're looking for a Business Development Manager to help build and shape LOTS Group's expansion of its European operations of Battery Electric Vehicle operations. You will have the responsibility to build LOTS' business offering in Europe, generate sales leads and create proposals for customers' shift towards a more sustainable transport operation. Moreover, you will lead the business development activities and shaping LOTS Europe's customer journey and help setting the process to ensure attaining the attraction of a new set of customers, suppliers, and business partners within the industry.
In this role you will work closely with LOTS Europe Managing Director to establish services that provisions a turnkey solution based on a connected and electrified vehicle fleet. Furthermore, you will be accountable for establishing and maintaining strategic and operational collaborations with stakeholders both externally as well as within the group.
Reporting directly to the Head of Scania Ventures at Mobility Solutions, you will play a key role together with the team setting the entrepreneurial spirit, as well as to contributing to strengthen the core capabilities of customer collaboration, speed & flexibility, and always having the people & culture perspective in focus.
The Candidate:

To succeed in this position, you should have a business and entrepreneurial personality and you should be able to see the "big picture" in a variety of settings. You are required to have a deep understanding of the industry of logistics services and how new technology solutions will transform the ecosystem and how it can reveal new business opportunities for the company. It is important that you have worked within and feel passioned about sales and advantageous if you have experience in the field of transport operations.
A successful candidate demonstrates the personal qualities of entrepreneurship and agility, a positive attitude, and a collaborative mindset. This person is comfortable in the field and knows how to communicate with internal as well as external stakeholders and customers.
Requirements
• Demonstrated experience and competence within sales, market analysis and business case calculations
• Entrepreneurial mindset seeing the opportunities and business potentials with a highly motivated work style
• Relevant transport and logistics industry background, preferable both from a commercial, operational, and technical perspective
• Good technical understanding, with preferable experience from areas such as transport system management
• Customer oriented and comfortable with initiating first contact
• Must be available to travel
• Strong command, both verbal and written, of the English language. German language is considered a plus.
• Academic degree (MBA, MSc or equivalent)
• Possess a high proficiency in MS Office Software - most critically Excel and PowerPoint
