Job Scope

Why does the role exist? High level purpose of function.

The Automation Engineer (Logistics) is responsible for overall project management related to industrial material flow engineering projects for Lyten's advanced factories and warehouses, including design and implementation of new technologies and specialized equipment.
This role drives the development, integration, and continuous improvement of automated materialflow solutions that enable safe, efficient, and scalable operations across Lyten's advanced factories and warehouses.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Responsible for managing projects, timelines, track progress on projects focusing on material flow and material handling engineering.
Responsible for design and implementation of automation systems for internal material flows for advanced factories and warehouses including:
Design and implementation of new technologies for specialized equipment.
Identification, evaluation and interact with key vendors.
Responsible for coordinating engineers, project leaders and vendors to design material flow solutions.
Ramping up the equipment to expected efficiency through manual and semi-automatic phases.
Troubleshooting, analysing and reporting problems with equipment. Driving the necessary improvements continuously.
Responsible for defining and contributing to following cross functional Blueprint areas, where Blueprint is referring to a lean, standardized and a flexible enough solution for a designated factory block to easily be adopted and scaled.
Material Handling Blueprint.
Material Flow Blueprint.
Engineering Tools and Methods Blueprint.
Responsible to secure and enable cross functional collaboration to Lyten Digital business unit and Factory Automation team to define technical interfaces for advanced real time monitoring, control, and optimization.
Responsible for collaboration and interaction with Lyten final customers regarding design and implementation of material handling engineering projects.
Contribute to profitability through efficiency improvements and cost optimization projects.

Requirements
Education and Qualification
Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, Engineering or similar.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or automation systems related to material flow (low to medium voltage system, variable frequency drives system and conveyor technology).
Excellent stakeholder and supplier management.
Experience within Industrial Automation or Automated PLC Based Systems (ASRS, AGV) and configuration of PLC, SCADA, WINCC, OPC connectivity and MES interfaces, especially using Siemens.
Experience in writing technical documentation (Requirement specifications, Functional design, Test Cases, Test Records).

Specific skills & Knowledge
Safety-oriented mindset, familiar with LoTo procedures, permits-to-work, and industrial safety standards.
Problem-solving skills with ability to work both independently and in a team.
Strong computer literacy (CMMS and MS Office) with the ability to document work in English.
Hands-on, practical, and structured approach to daily tasks.
High sense of responsibility and reliability.
Excellent English skills, both written and oral, are essential. Basic Swedish and other language skills are a plus. You should have good communication skills and be able to work in close collaboration with colleagues from many different teams.
