Associate Professor in Immunology
A tenure position at the Faculty of Medicine. The position is placed at the Unit for Immunology, Department of Clinical Microbiology. It includes independent research in Immunology and teaching in Immunology at the graduate- and undergraduate levels.
There are good opportunities for both basic experimental research and collaborative research with clinical units within the Medical Faculty and at the University Hospital in Umeå. Administrative tasks and assignments at the Department are also included. Assignments at the Medical Faculty may also be included.
The scientific skills must be in the area of Immunology. Experience of heading research projects and of administering graduate- and undergraduate teaching in Immunology is considered additional qualification. To qualify for the position you should have a PhD-degree or equivalent scientific competence and documented experience in research and training for undergraduate teaching at the university level. Skills in research and teaching will be given equal weight. Experience of leading and administering research, graduate teaching and undergraduate teaching in Immunology will also be considered meritorious.
It is possible to have the position promoted to Full Professor if the applicant is qualified. If you want to be considered for employment as Full Professor this should be clearly stated in the application.
