The mission of JIBS is to advance the theory and practice of business, with a specific emphasis on Entrepreneurship, Ownership, and Renewal. Three simple principles guide what we do: International at Heart, Entrepreneurial in Mind and Responsible in Action.
JIBS is a double accredited Business School with EQUIS and AACSB accreditations. JIBS offers a range of Bachelor and Master Programs in Business Administration, Economics, and Informatics. JIBS has 85 faculty members and 14 operations staff, approximately 1.600 full-time students, including international exchange students. JIBS currently has 61 active PhD candidates.
JIBS is recruiting one Assistant Professor (Universitetslektor) in Informatics/ Information Systems to teach within the master program of IT, Management and Innovation.
The topics that build the core of the master program are information management, IT governance, digital innovation and project management. More information about our master program is presented at the JU website.
Working tasks
The position includes teaching at, research, and service to JIBS, including assignment related to management of education programs and education planning. Teaching is performed primarily in English, and distributed over the different parts of the academic year.
Besides teaching, the holder of the position must be able to position their present or aspired research orientation within JIBS focus areas (Entrepreneurship, Ownership and Renewal). All colleagues at JIBS are expected to do research, apply for externally funded research grants, as well as be engaged with business and society at large, to improve JIBS footprint in the broader society.
JIBS is notably international in all that it does - more than half of its faculty are from outside Sweden and the working language is English. Teaching and research are dominated by a teambased approach.
Qualifications
The following qualifications are mandatory for all applicants:
- Doctoral degree in Informatics, Information Systems or related fields. You may apply when a date is set for your final defense of the thesis.
- Proven experience of teaching in Informatics/Information Systems amounting to at least one year full-time teaching.
- Pedagogical education (equivalent to at least 7.5 credits of "högskolepedagogik"), as well as evidence of pedagogical skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Swedish
- Good ability to cooperate with colleagues within your own discipline and between disciplines.
- Ability to create and withhold national and international networks
- Ability to individually structure and complete administrative work
The following are considered as merits for the position:
- Documented research within the any of the areas included in the master program.
- Track record of excellence in teaching within your specific focus area.
- Documented academic leadership (e.g. Programme coordinator, Director of Studies, Department head, Research project leader, Doctoral representative or engaged in other organizational committees).
