IMM conducts cutting edge research within the areas of environmental and occupational medicine, toxicology, physiology, epidemiology, and biostatistics with the aim to clarify how environmental and lifestyle factors affect our health and which role genes have. IMM also serves as a scientific advisor to public authorities within the area of environmental medicine and IMM scientists participate in national and international expert groups.
Division
The position is located at the Unit of Biochemical Toxicology at IMM.
The Unit of Biochemical Toxicology at IMM performs studies to understand the connection between chemicals and cancer.
Duties
The applicant is required to conduct experimental research in the areas of chemical-induced DNA- damage- and inflammatory signaling. The applicant is also expected to conduct interdisciplinary work such as biochemical analysis of human samples. Furthermore, participation in risk assessment activities and in teaching in toxicology at IMM is expected.
Entry requirements
A person is eligible to be appointed as Assistant Professor if they have been awarded a Degree of Doctor or have achieved the corresponding scientific competence. The persons appointed should primarily be ones who have been granted a Degree of Doctor or have reached the corresponding competence no more than seven years before the end of the application period.
The candidate should have a good understanding and experience in the area of experimental chemical-induced DNA-damage- and inflammatory signaling and in toxicology of particles. A good understanding of disease processes in humans is also a requirement. Experience in interdisciplinary research projects is a merit. Other merits include experience in teaching and supervision of students.

An Assistant professor position is a fixed-term position. The first employment should be two years, with a possible extension of two years after evaluation.
