The Area Engineer is responsible for all work in the area, and for event control systems such as Talks, Audits, Meetings, Resource numbers, priorities, E/N work, progress against plan, engineering standards, and handover of systems
• Ensure the scheduler produces a realistic, achievable plan for the area by carrying out specific activities such as validation of packs, check materials, identify peaks in workload and resources, and have a clear understanding of the workscope
• Validate any sub-contractor workscopes to ensure any clashes are mitigated
• Be fully conversant with the Safe Systems of Work document and have ownership of the requirements and procedures applicable to your area
• Be fully aware of the requirements of the Environmental risk assessment for the project and the impact it may have on your area.
• Prepare and deliver major job presentations as defined by Project Manager
• Ensure all workscopes have been tagged
• Carry out regular update meetings within the area team to ensure any issues are outlined and actioned to completion.
• Complete all prework
• Present an overview of your area workscope/team set up, & any risks to full delivery, at a management briefing.
• Arrange and lead a debriefing session for your area team to capture learning for next time.
