We advise and train multinational companies in the Nordics on matters of business and human rights and we are looking for a new colleague.
Do you fit the profile?
You have relevant experience from working as a consultant in the field of business and human rights. You are client oriented and service minded with excellent project management skills and you are fluent in both English and Swedish. Additional languages are a merit.
You are passionate about sustainability and human rights but you also understand the complex realities that businesses encounter when conducting their activities and being out in the field. You have proven your ability to help corporate clients navigate this field and you are able to communicate clearly but diplomatically about sensitive topics.
Preferably you read the UNGP's before going to bed, but if you love another book, we are curious to hear which one and why.
Do you fit with Enact?
We like to think of ourselves as "a bit different"; you could say we like human rights conventions, but we are unconventional. We come from the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, the UK, Singapore, Denmark, Spain, the US and Bulgaria and therefore have a natural inclination to look beyond borders and see the global picture. We hope you do too.
We have diverse backgrounds in international law, communication, sustainability management, diplomacy, engineering and ecosystems services. But we are also mothers and fathers; rappers and guitar players; surfers and SCUBA-divers; beer-lovers and whisky-aficionados; vegetarians and grill masters. In short, we are a very diverse group of people. This is one of the important values we celebrate and uphold.
But diverse as we are, we do share a strong shared set of values. And since many of us come from abroad for many of us the office is our second home and our colleagues are also friends.
How does the position fit in at Enact?
You will work primarily within our Human Rights and Business Practice Group. The HRBPG aims to increase businesses respect and support for human rights. You will be a key player in this development. You may conduct human rights impact assessments, advice on and execute human rights due diligence, develop new methodologies and support businesses to understand the business case to work with human rights. As we engage on global, regional as well as local levels, your role may include travelling within Sweden and abroad.
Your qualifications:
Relevant academic degree with regards to business and human rights
A keen interest in and basic orientation of business and sustainability
At least five years of practical experience working with human rights at a company, consulting firm, non-profit organisation, a government authority or other relevant institution
Excellent analytical capabilities and a keen eye for details
Sensitive to cultural differences and a good listener
Experience from field work in emerging markets
Experience in project management
Experience in conducting training
Excellent oral and writing skills in (preferably) both Swedish and English, any additional language is an advantage
