About the Role
As an Application Specialist within Core Business Solutions, you will be integral to our committed and service-oriented team. This role will see you managing and supporting critical business applications, working closely with various IT teams and business stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to broaden your expertise across diverse applications and areas within Stena.
Key Responsibilities
Support Business-Owned Applications: Maintain, update, and secure business-critical applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Stakeholder & Vendor Interaction: Lead meetings and ensure effective communication and alignment on application needs.
Application Maintenance: Oversee performance monitoring, capacity planning, and implement necessary updates and improvements.
Technical Support: Provide proactive application lifecycle support, resolve incidents, and offer technical guidance.
SQL Proficiency: Execute SQL queries for data management and manipulation.
Risk & Compliance Management: Assess risks related to application performance, security, and compliance, and ensure adherence to IT security policies.
Integration Oversight: Oversee and manage application integrations.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain detailed documentation on system setups, known issues, and solutions.
About You
You are an experienced Application Specialist with a strong background in managing critical applications. You thrive in a structured and analytical environment, are communicative, and enjoy driving initiatives independently. As a skilled problem solver, you excel at identifying issues and developing effective solutions. Your strategic mindset allows you to provide valuable advice on service delivery.
Desired Skills
Proficiency in MS SQL Server and T-SQL
Understanding of IT architecture and infrastructure
Basic knowledge of financial principles
Familiarity with IT Service Management frameworks like ITIL
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Fluency in English, verbal and written. Knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
