We are now looking to hire a highly motivated and experienced Animal Technician to help us shape the future of medicine! You will get the opportunity to work in a team with a passion for innovate and work closely with colleagues in delivering innovative in vivo technologies across AstraZeneca.
The position will be based within the Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) department at AstraZeneca Gothenburg, Sweden which supports all in vivo studies in partnership with diverse multi-disciplinary teams across the company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The functional department - Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) delivers internal in vivo studies, breeding of transgenic mouse strains, daily animal care welfare. In the role of Animal Technician, you will:
* Be responsible for the care and welfare of laboratory animals and routine facility operations tasks and the delivery of high quality laboratory animals for scientific experimentation
* Work as part of a team and capable of working flexibly across different areas
* Participate in provision of weekend and out of hours support
* Ensure that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), quality and compliance standards, e.g. Good Laboratory Standard (GLS)
Essential Requirements
* Animal technology qualification or University degree in a scientific field, or relevant experience
* Experience in working with laboratory rodents and strong interest in animal care and welfare
* Ability to perform work independently and consistently to the required standard on a consistent basis
* Understand principles and concepts associated with Laboratory Animal Science particularly on animal welfare and the 3Rs
* Strong communication skills with fluency in English
Desirable Requirements
* Knowledge and experience with the breeding of laboratory rodents
* Work experience in AAALAC-accredited animal facilities
* Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical Industry
* Membership in relevant professional body
